Valuedocs Private Limited
Privacy Policy
Effective 8 August 2026
Who we are
Valuedocs Private Limited is an Indian software company registered in Kerala, India. We operate this website (valuedocs.co.in) and Valuedocs Legal, an AI-assisted legal research platform for Indian law. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act), Valuedocs Private Limited is the data fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@valuedocs.co.in.
What we collect
When you use Valuedocs Legal, we collect:
- Account details — your username, email address, and password. Passwords are stored only as one-way cryptographic hashes; we cannot read them.
- Content you add — documents you upload, the matters you file them under, saved cases, notes, and the searches and questions you run. Uploaded documents may contain personal data and legally privileged material; we treat all of it as confidential.
- Billing information — payments are handled by Razorpay. We receive your subscription plan and payment status; we never receive or store your card or bank details.
- Technical logs — IP addresses, timestamps, and request metadata, kept for security monitoring and reliability.
Why we process it
We process personal data only to provide the service you signed up for: authenticating you, storing and retrieving your documents, running the research and analysis features you invoke, sending you transactional email (such as verification and password-reset messages), collecting subscription payments, and keeping the service secure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where your data lives and how it is protected
- Your data is stored on Google Cloud in the Mumbai region (asia-south1), India.
- Uploaded documents are encrypted at rest with encryption keys that we create and control (customer-managed encryption keys), in addition to transport encryption (TLS) for all traffic.
- Access to documents is owner-scoped: the platform only serves a document to the account that uploaded it. This boundary is enforced in the application and covered by our automated tests.
AI processing
When you use an AI feature — case summaries, key points, document analysis, or drafting — the relevant text is sent to our AI providers, Google (Gemini) and OpenAI, and is processed on their servers, which are located outside India. We send only what is needed to answer your request.
We do not use your documents or questions to train AI models, and we use provider interfaces whose terms state that submitted content is not used to train theirs.
Services we rely on
We share data with a small number of service providers, each receiving only what its function requires:
- Google Cloud — hosting, storage, and databases (Mumbai region).
- Google (Gemini) and OpenAI — AI processing, as described above.
- Razorpay — subscription payments.
- ZeptoMail — delivery of transactional email.
- Indian Kanoon — receives your case-law search queries in order to return published judgments.
Cookies
The application sets one strictly necessary cookie: a secure, HTTP-only session token that keeps you signed in between visits. We do not use analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies.
Retention and deletion
Your content stays in your account until you delete it. When you delete a document, we remove the stored file, its database records, and the derived search-index entries built from it. If you ask us to close your account, we delete the personal data associated with it, except where a law requires us to retain specific records.
Your rights under the DPDP Act
As a data principal under the DPDP Act, 2023, you may:
- request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
- request correction or erasure of your personal data;
- nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf;
- raise a grievance about how your data is handled.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@valuedocs.co.in from your registered address. We respond within the timelines the DPDP Act and its rules prescribe.
Grievances
Complaints under this policy go to our Grievance Officer: Grievance Officer, Valuedocs Private Limited, Kerala, India — info@valuedocs.co.in. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Valuedocs Legal is a professional research tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
